Samarai Knights Program Print

This is a unique character-building program where boys learn values and particular leadership skills while having fun exploring the fantastic world of heroes through games, martial arts, drama and storytelling.

The art of storytelling has been used for thousands of years as a way of teaching values. Each week during the Samarai Knights program a story of a great hero is chosen to illustrate a particular virtue or leadership quality. This quality is further explored throughout each of the other elements of the program.

Drama is a wonderful tool for personal development. The Samarai Knights program uses a type of drama known as Improvised Drama as a meduim for personal development. Using the techniques of improvised drama the instructor creates a scenario and encourages the boys to develop characters. The instructor then guides the boys through various learning experiences such as conflict resolution, or problem-solving in a fun, dynamic and creative way.
Samarai Knights covers the following Issues:

  • Enhancing self-worth esteem
  • Identity formation
  • Ideals of a strong leader
  • Knights& Heroes: learning true leadership qualities
